How to transplant your tomato seedlings

Hi everyone! In this video I show you how to transplant your seedlings into bigger planters.

You will need:

1. Organic Potting Soil

2. Serrated Knife

3. Spoon

4. Medium Size Pot

5. Water

6. TOMATO SEEDLINGS :)

Simply cut around the seedling with the knife.  Spoon out the seedling.  Place the seedling with roots and all into the medium sized pot with the organic potting soil and then make the soil around the seedling a bit firm.  Water the soil and make sure to keep it moist!

I’m going to do this tomorrow! All my seeds came up and are looking great. I also have my compost pile started, 17 foot tomato plant here I come…

Haha nice! Some one who is going for the gold, I like it! :)

P.S. As for your compost pile, do you have a bunch of old horse or cow manure for it? We started them off a bit late, myself included, so the only option now is to use about 10 five gallon buckets of horse or cow manure for your tomato hill. Cow manure is best. A video for this is coming up next week! :)

Thanks for the video! Quick question – I started my seeds a few days after the last date you were supposed to plant them (doh!) and nothing has come up yet and today was day #9. We’ve been misting the soil when it’s dry and I thought I planted them the right way. Should I be concerned? The kiddies are getting impatient..haha! :)

Jackie! You are just fine. My friend planted hers on the 28th of March, and hers JUST came up yesterday. So thats about 17 days (it probably wasnt WARM enough). Kind of like mine. Mine took at least 10 days or more, until I turned the heat up in my house, eek, cant wait for that bill! As far as the misting the soil goes, make the soil not saturated but nice and moist, something you would want to grow in if you were a little seed. Love your enthusiasm!

Thanks so much for all this great info, Curt. Only one of my seeds germinated. I’ll wait patiently.

I planted them on the last day and still only one see came up and it’s about 3″ high, I think. Was hoping to give some away but I’m thinking it’ll just be the one for me!
